Obituary of Mary Rose Weyershausen

Mary Rose Weyershausen, age 80, born in Staten Island, New York passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Devoted wife to her late husband Frederick Weyershausen. Adored mother to Kathleen and mother in law to Edward. Loved by her grandchildren Joseph, Ashly and Anthony. Mary was the daughter to the late James and Mary Edkins (nee Simon). Dear sister to James, Charles, the late William Edkins and the late Annie Crisson. Fond sister in law to Roberta and MaryAnn Edkins, and Lynn Cormier. Cherished aunt to the late James Edkins, Stephen Edkins and Sandra Merlino, Tammi Marlborough, late Charles and Mariana Edkins, Dolores Edkins, Tami LoSacco, and Stacy and Richard Weyershausen. Mary grew up in Travis then moved to Annadale where she met her late husband, they married and settled in Travis. Mary worked at the Farmers Market, Doremus & Co, then Phenes Market. She was passionate about hosting the annual Travis 4th of July party at her house following the parade for over 50 years. Mary was an icon and loved by everyone who knew her. She was a true caretaker and a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony's of Padua. Full of laughter and happiness, she was always the life of the party. She enjoyed music, dancing, and gardening, and spent her summers at the family shore house boating, fishing and crabbing. Family and friends were her world, and she always welcomed everyone with open arms.
