Obituary of Claire Bruggemann

Claire Bruggeman was born on March 20, 1938 and passed away on October 2nd 2023. Claire leaves behind four devoted children Roy and wife Elizabeth, Donna and husband Ali, Jodi, Corey and wife Stacey her cherished grandchildren Keith, Marc, Scott, Alexa, Jonna and Sophia and her beloved brother Howard. Claire grew up on Cherry Street in Manhattan, she settled in Brooklyn and then moved to Staten Island where she spent the rest of her life. She worked as a barmaid at Kelly’s Pub for more than 25 years. She was well known in the neighborhood and her company was enjoyed by many. Claire was a skilled seamstress who loved sewing for her loved ones. Her favorite things to make were her infamous robes. She loved spending time with her grandkids, including walking daily to elementary school where she was well known for always being friendly and welcoming to all. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A service is scheduled at 8:00 pm, in the funeral home.
