Obituary of Mary Mullins-Pico

Mary Mullins-Pico, 90, passed away on April 11th, 2024. She is survived by her beloved husband Albert "Al" Pico, sister Kathleen Keane living in London, and brothers Tommy and Bernard Mullins living in Ireland. She was predeceased by her sister Eleanor, and brothers John, Michael, Kevin, and Gerard.

Born in Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary, Ireland on the 25th Nov 1933, Mary was the eldest of nine children, three girls and six boys, born to Michael Mullins and Ellen (nee Tobin). She left Carrick-on-Suir for London in 1950. During her time there, she had live-in jobs working as a lady's maid for some very well-off families. In 1960, Mary left London for New York, where most of her working life was spent at the cosmetics counters of major department stores, such as Lord & Taylor, Altman's, and Bergdorf Goodman.

Mary had a great interest in history, and a fantastic memory of events, people, and places. Throughout the years, she loved to keep in contact with extended family and friends, through travel, and frequently exchanging letters, photos, and calls. She will be greatly missed by her husband, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.

The visitation will be at Matthew Funeral Home on Sunday April 28th from 3-7pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Roch's Church on Monday April 29th at 10am.
