Obituary of Paulina Oluwafunmilola Fagbuyi
BIOGRAPHY: Paulina Oluwafunmilola Fagbuyi
Paulina “Lola” Fagbuyi was born on May 1, 1972, in Lagos, Nigeria. She transitioned to glory on December 8, 2024, at the age of 52. She is survived by her mother Olaide Shodunke, husband Sunday Fagbuyi, daughter Ayomide Fagbuyi, brothers Seyi, Segun, Seye, Tunde; sisters Olamide, Abioye, and Ore; Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, and Cousins.
As a young child and throughout her life, she brought light into the lives of those around her. She was known for her passion to do good, laughter, and kindness and love for God’s kingdom. She grew up surrounded by love from her family, who always admired her intelligence, creativity, and compassion.
Lola attended Our Lady of Apostle primary school in Yaba, then Methodist Girst High School for her secondary education. She proceeded to Ogun State Polytechnic to study Accounting and graduated in 1994.
Lola migrated to the United States in 1996 and continued her studies at the College of Staten Island, where she obtained a BS in accounting. After graduating from college, she worked as an accounting manager with Riverside research institute N.Y (2002- 2015). While working full-time, she continued her studies at the University of Phoenix, where she obtained her master’s in business administration (M.B.A). She then continued her professional career with Catholic charities of NY, until she became too ill to continue working.
As she grew older, Paulina developed a deep passion for entrepreneurship and ventured into self-owned businesses, including independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay, where she attained the Independent Sales Director position, and established an independent catering service among other exploits. She approached everything with enthusiasm and a smile. Her ability to make others laugh, offering support, or inspiring others made her a unique human being who positively touched many lives.
Family meant the world to Paulina. She was a cherished spouse, mother, daughter, sister, niece, and cousin. Always there with a caring word or a shoulder to lean on. Her bond with her surviving mother, spouse, and daughter was special, and her love for them was unconditional. Paulina was also a friend to many, with her kindness, loyalty, humor shining brightly in every relationship she had.
Her greatest passion is her love for God. She was passionately committed to her Church community and family, “the RCCG Covenant Chapel”, where she worshiped until her death. She served in several departments (Choir, HOD intercession, member of Women’s Executive, Youth Mentor, and Sunday School Teacher.
Though her time with us was too short, Paulina lived an impactful life and leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and laughter. She will always be remembered for her generosity, energy, laughter, and care. Her memory lives on, in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Paulina may no longer be with us, but her spirit will forever remain in our thoughts and memories.
Rest in peace, dear Paulina Oluwafunmilola Fagbuyi. You are deeply missed and forever loved.
