Way before I met Linda I knew Kenny. We were cribmates as infants and virtual siblings. I was delighted to meet Linda (1977 maybe.) and loved her immediately. Both nurses, we had many talks over the years and miles. She became as dear a friend as Kenny. How she endured the 10 years with metastatic cancer is beyond me. (I’m a wimp.). We laughed about ideas for eyelid at Christina’s wedding, (Lace eye patch, paint an eyeball on eyelid?)
We commiserated over each new symptom. She was in my daily prayers. Linda blessed many people with her warmth, her tender nursing, and her dimpled smile. I think all those she touched, now in heaven, were there to greet her when she arrived. Love you, Linda.

I met Linda the same day I met her brother Mike, my husband of 51 years.. Linda became my “sister”, my best friend, a fabulous aunt and godmother. Linda and I haven’t lived near each other for many years but we’d talk all the time, sometimes for hours at a time. I’ve watched Linda’ fight for the last ten years against the monster called cancer. She fought hard, with awe-inspiring grace and determination. Linda, you were the center of the family; the “one and only!” Thank you for loving me as a sister. You are at rest now. I love you Linda, and always will!

If I had the words I would share them, If I could show the feelings, I would present them, my love and adoration for my sister Linda surpassed my own understanding yet sustained me through a once in a lifetime relationship. Her influence will never leave me, her spirit will always accompany me. She inspired me to try and give back to her the grace and love she feely gave me, she made it so easy. The strongest person I ever met, deserves the rest she is receiving. You will be missed but never left out of any part of my life. I see you in your children and in my daughters and thank you for that gift. Goodbye for now, but not forever,
Love ya sis,
Eddie

My dear big(little) sis, having you as the best sister a guy could ask for all these years is a blessing I will always cherish. You were the sweetest ,kindest, one as kids sis, and your natural love of others carried into all relations as you grew into an incredibly generous woman, wife ,mom, grandma and aunt. I looked up to you always, your intelligence and willingness to do what was necessary has always been an inspiration to me.You set a great example, toughness tempered with love, love tempered with accountability, and accountability tempered with laughter. May you look lovingly down upon us, and continue to guide us along, as we look up to you with love and a lifetime of memories. Say hi to Dad for me, till we meet again, your little(big) brother, Rich.

Were you ever so lucky to meet someone and become immediate friends? Well I was that lucky over 47 years ago. I met a wonderful, generous, smart, tough woman who became one of my closest friends. You know, the friend that you talk to for hours on the phone about anything and everything. Linda always sent me the most beautiful heartfelt cards over the years and I saved a lot of them. We lived parallel lives. Italian girls married to Irish men. Our kids are close in age, we traveled to the same beach every year for vacation with our families and we went to plays together in the city. We even share a relative Liberatore Picoccio was my grandfathers cousin. Now Linda its time for you to rest. Thank you your beautiful friendship. Please watch over us. I for one will never ever forget you.My dear dear friend I love you. Rest peacefully Diane Mcconnell

I met Linda, whom I affectionately called “Ma,” after dating Christina for about a month. I drove from Queens to Staten Island to pick Christina up for a beach trip. The moment she saw “those blue eyes,” I instantly became part of the family. Every Sunday became a tradition, with Ma spoiling me with freshly cooked dinners or as I called it “ eating at my favorite restaurant Linda’s Kitchen (always with plenty of leftovers). As I left on those Sundays, she would give me the most intense hug and yell, “If you leave hungry, it’s your own fault!”
Ma, I want to thank you for living a life of unlimited love and for being our superwoman. You will forever be my Ma and my hero. Your legacy lives on through us.
I love you,
Tu hijo, Pablo
