First off, I was shocked to find out today where I work where Mrs.DiFilippo works as well sometimes. I remember her and Mrs. Cannavale from 101. They told me he passed away and I wanted to cry. I knew him since II was a student at 101 since I was 6 in Kindergarten and 1st grade. I remember he used to put me with Mrs. Federico and dancing class in the auditorium( 2nd grade teacher) when I used to cry for my mother in the morning. I would literally cry because I missed her because my mother was a teacher at Abraham Lincoln HS. He was so nice and heartfelt. . He was down to earth. I remember he worked at Cavallaro / IS 281 after PS 101. Then I lost touch and saw him briefly when I was in Midwood Hs. A few years later, I briefly texted him to say hello and how he was? I think it was after his father passed away to give my condolences. I think it was 2 years ago etc. I will miss his optimism, his smile where he can light up a room. He was also engaging. I miss his being down to earth and I pray him and his father will watch over his mother Theresa. I'll pray for you Mike.
Best Anna Bellone

Michael
You were my first friend, my best friend and the brother I never had. You were also the kindest, bravest, funniest, strongest, most loyal and selfless person I’ve ever known. I pray that my sons have those same qualities and it destroys me that they won’t really know you. But they will know of you, every story, every adventure, misadventure and silly tradition. The world was a better place when you were here, it’s less so now that you’re not and I’ll miss you till the day I die.

Dearest Michael,
So many happy memories of you growing up with Andrea and Christopher, Summers at Breezy Point, Trip to Santa Land and Santa's Workshop and Mahjong Chinese Restaurant where you ordered and ate Frog's Legs. (You were only 5 years old).
Your love and devotion to family, friends and who ever was in need was always supportive and caring. You always did things your way with courage and class.
You will always be in my heart and prayers. Love Auntie Lee

I can't remember a time in my life without Michael in it. He was my very first friend who has been by my side for the past 45 years. My earliest and best memories include Michael. Exploring Cocoa Beach at Breezy, walking home to East first street on half days, playing in his backyard eating peanut butter and fluff sandwiches, apple picking trips, house parties, road trips to Albany, weekends at Matt's house, vacationing at Richie's, dinner parties, trips to Key West, births, deaths, weddings, illnesses, baptisms, communions and everything in between. No matter what Michael was dealing with, he always put everyone else first, always checking to make sure his friends were okay, and usually bringing donuts. He was funny, and sandy, and loved a good gossip session. He was the bravest and most resilient person I have ever known and he will be sorely missed, every day. Rest easy, my beautiful friend.

Our family has known Michael since he was a child still living in Brooklyn, NY. Many sunmers were shared at Breezy Point Syrf Club...the Defelippos were in the neighboring cabana. Despite Michael's medical concern with Cooley's Anemia, he always managed to be happy and usually had great empathy and concern for others, especially in their time of need. He always offered his help and support and rarely waited to be asked for it. He will always be remembered as a gentle and good soul and the Lord has just gained what is our loss. Peace be with you Michael, forever and ever.
