Obituary of Richard Candrilli
Richard Candrilli: September 24th 1953 -October 7th 2019
Richard Candrilli, age 66, kind, loving, husband, son, brother, uncle, Godfather and friend passed away on Monday, October 7th, 2019.
Richard was a native Staten Islander; he was the son of the late Salvatore and Ethel Candrilli. He was predeceased in death by his loving wife of 42 years Deborah Candrilli and a brother Donald Candrilli.
Richard was a graduate of New Dorp High School and studied Electrical Engineering technology at College of Staten Island. Richard worked at Con Edison for 43 years, where he retired in 2016.
Richard and his wife Deborah shared a love for Labrador retrievers and raised many throughout their lives. Richard served two terms as President of the Staten Island Companion Dog Training Club, where he was a member for 25 years. He was an avid motorcycle rider, enjoying long distance rides as a member of the New Jersey Shore BMW Riders.
Richard and his childhood best friend, Anthony had a Wednesday night tradition - they went to Popeyes for fried chicken and Tim Hortons for coffee - the highlight of his week! Once a year the guys would get together for Man Day, eating, drinking and enjoying from morning 'til night!
He and Deborah loved carrying on the tradition of an Italian family Christmas Eve. As the pizza maker, he always made sure to have everyones' favorites.
Richard is survived by his brother Jerome Candrilli and his sister Missey Vitagliano, his caring brothers-in-law and sisters-in law, Eugene Vitagliano, John W Young Jr., Margaret Candrilli, Maria Candrilli, Geraldine Young and Donna Young. He is also survived by many nieces, grandnieces, nephews and grandnephews.
Richard will be missed dearly!
